Breast Cancer
Prevention
Did you know that lung cancer is preventable 90% of the time, while for breast cancer it’s only 10%? That’s because of risk factors that are unpreventable, such as being a woman and ageing.
CRMY is exploring the lifestyle and dietary changes that can reverse our risk to breast cancer. Using data from the Malaysian Breast Cancer Genetic Study and the Malaysian Mammographic Density Study, we are studying the factors associated with increased / decreased risk to breast cancer.
To do so, we have been using mammograms as a means of calculating breast cancer risk and, in turn, using the changes in mammographic images as a means of testing whether we can alter the risk to breast cancer.
